anthropocene /ˈanTHrəpəˌsēn/ (n): the current geological age, viewed as the period during which human activity has been the dominant influence on climate and the environment.
the anthropocene​ has been highly scrutinized, and we are caught in a frantic race to define it, or halt it, or control it. everyone's narrative relating to it is different, yet they all fit into the broadest definition we can manage–now. every single person's worldview fits in the anthropocene–in our right now. and perhaps that's part of the reason it's so striking: the deeper our knowledge of the anthropocene is, the more we understand everyone and everything around us.
